Hermes Travel Agencies

2005-04-17 No Comments

First off, I’d like to thank all of our testers for helping us get a good start when we opened March 1st. Our first area open to testers has for the most part been a success. More equipment mobiles, quests, etc are of course being added as time continues. Your assistance in pointing out bugs and spelling errors has been greatly appreciated. Three new cities are being opened up to the player testers now. Knossos, Megora and Delphi will be temporarily accessible through a series of soft-links called Hermes Travel Agency. As the areas between these cities are opened, hard-links (actual roads and open countryside) will replace the need for the soft-links. Upon posting this announcement, the travel agencies will be open and offer transport free of charge to all player testers. I look forward to your bug reporting, critiques and comments on the newly opened areas. -Hera, Queen of

New Monster – The Chimera!

2005-04-06 No Comments

Thought I’d share one of our newest creations! For those of you that have not gotten into combat with anything more difficult than a wild bore outside of town, this should put the fear of the gods into you! Notice the melting… 🙂 A log from my test character: Hera has restored you. | 127/127hp 941nxtlvl | You feel the favor of the gods upon you. You feel strengthened against attack. Your muscles surge with heightened power! You appear mightier than you are! You are surrounded by a force shield. You are surrounded by a white aura. Hera has given you a boon from the gods! | 227/227hp 941nxtlvl | kill chim You are fighting to kill in this fight. Your stab misses the chimaera. The chimaera is in excellent condition. | 227/227hp 941nxtlvl | The chimaera parries your attack. You parry the chimaera’s attack. The chimaera is in excellent

Athens Beta Testing

2005-03-29 No Comments

Player testing has gone very well and due to the major efforts that have been put forth by some of the imms, we’re now ready for beta testing. For those who don’t know what the difference between beta-testing and pt-testing is, let me give quick description of the two. In player testing we had a select handful of players who were let into the game to find bugs and make suggestions. In beta-testing we will ‘let the flood gates open’ and allow new players to create characters freely. This is an extensive testing process that will hopefully get our mud completely ready to open down the road. Beta testing brings on new issues and challenges as well as new rewards. It will be nice to have more players on and see the game ‘in action’. It’ll make all our work seem worth it and we’ll be able to have some

More Athens News

The military point system, clan system and arena are now all complete and fully functional. Players who are clanned now lose points and gain points through pkilling. An example of all the player houses (1 room – 7 room) are now completed and installed into the public areas of the game. Their doors are unlocked and available for players to explore and view. The list of things needed to make our game more ready to be open to a larger player base is short. I feel confident that with a good effort put forth, we could be ready for more extensive testing in no time. I’m hoping for a large get-together of the immortals to discuss the finer details of changes occurring in our mud and to exchange ideas. I know that it is almost impossible to find a time that works for everyone. -Hera, Queen of the Gods

Athens Armies Open

2005-03-19 No Comments

The Army of Athens and Military of Megara have been created. You will need to contact me to join either army (until both armies are established enough to do their own promoting and recruiting). I also need volunters to switch citizenship to Megara. It has been pretty much agreed that speeding up the creation of armies should create a more dynamic game for testers to enjoy. I do appreciate those of you who have been coming to the mud often and exploring. The bugs and typos you have found have helped us very much in our goal of creating a quality mudding experience. While other areas are still being created, more items, quests, mobiles, food and water sources are being added to the existing areas to make them more playable. Your comments and suggestions have been taken very seriously and almost all have made it into the game already. Due
